Why does FilmCatch need my location?+
Films spawn at real places around you — location is how the map knows what’s nearby and whether you’re in catching range (200 metres). Your location is used in real time only, never shown to other players, and never sold.
No films are spawning near me. What do I do?+
Scan to reveal spawns around you — they fill the blocks nearby and rotate through the day. Pan the map and scan new areas to reveal more, and check back later if a spot feels picked over.
How does rarity work?+
A film’s rarity is earned from its real-world prestige — critical acclaim and popularity decide its tier, from Common up to Legendary. Any catch can also roll a holographic Shiny, and brand-new releases spawn as gold-badged PREMIERE editions during their first 90 days in theaters.
How do trades, auctions, and gifting work?+
List any film and set your Ticket price, or run a live auction with a Buy Now option — highest bid when the timer ends wins. You can also gift films, Tickets, and Gems directly to friends. Trades involved in cheating or fraud may be reversed.
Is FilmCatch free? What do purchases cover?+
FilmCatch is free to play. Optional in-app purchases and rewarded videos keep the lights on — everything in the game can be earned by playing. Purchases are processed by the App Store, and refunds follow Apple’s policies.
How do I report a player or content?+
You can report content and block players anywhere it appears in the app. We review reports and remove content or accounts that break the rules — typically within 24 hours.
How do I delete my account?+
In the app: Settings → Data → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and immediate — your collection, currencies, and all personal data are removed. Remaining virtual items are forfeited.
Where do the film posters and data come from?+
Film titles, posters, and credits are supplied by TMDB. FilmCatch uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
